Sikh and ye shall find!

Today was a great day! First we had training in the Sikh religion. It was very interesting. The man who gave the presentation used to be a Sikh until his whole family converted to Christianity.

This afternoon we visited Southall (London's "Little India") for a cultural scavenger hunt. On this hunt, we had to find a bunch of things to help us learn their culture. One of them was to find a marriage broker! Marriage brokers in the indian culture helps people with arranged marriages. Ashley was the lucky girl from our group, so if she comes back with a husband, do not be alarmed . :) It was really fun being able to see all of the different cultures in such a small area. We walked down some neighborhood streets and saw homes that Sikhs, Hindus, and Muslims live in. It was very eye-opening to see all of the cultures and how they live.

It was a very successful day!

The second half of the day was spent doing a Kids Club at the church. It was a ton of fun and the kids seemed to really enjoy it. We played a lot of football (soccer) with the kids. We presented a skit based on Acts 19, which we planned in a way that included the kids throughout the skit. There was also singing and crafts. We even used the two crafts as props in the skits. We also met a girl named Jasmit. She is our age and a lot of the girls in the group had a great time talking with her. She has lived in England her whole life and we had a lot of fun comparing cultures. She can also do a really good American accent.

Then tonight we were treated to an authentic English Pub dinner experience (built in the 1600's!) Overall a great day!
